CASE STUDIES
SMALL BUSINESS START-UP SITUATION: I’ve made a decision to start my own small business, however, I don’t quite know where to start! GOAL: My own photography business. ‘Jane’: 'I live in a regional city where I presently have a full-time job (that doesn’t pay very much!). I have been dabbling in photography for a few years, mainly providing prints for friends – they say I’m quite good! I want to take the plunge to see if I can be independent doing what I am passionate about while gaining the rewards that come from operating a successful ‘micro business’. I know that photography is very competitive. Can I make this work? I need help! I need a Business Plan Writer'.... WSA: The first consultation (up to an hour) is no charge / no obligation. This process provides critical information and assessment tools to evaluate Jane’s chances of success. Jane decided to go ahead with her project, and working together we developed a strong business plan that allowed Jane to approach a financial institution for a start-up loan. WSA provided information to assist with this, for instance a pathway to micro-business funding – an unsecured loan, low interest, of up to $20,000 over 3 years. The loan costs were factored into the business plan’s financial projections. The plan was conservative yet positive, demonstrating a viable sector and delivering a comprehensive risk analysis. Jane received her loan! OUTCOME: Jane has been operating her enterprise for just over 2 years on a full-time basis and is exceeding projected forecasts. WSA provides mentoring / advice as Jane’s advocate – which Jane says, has been critical to her success. This is a typical example of many, many other success stories... |
GRANTS & FUNDING SITUATION: We operate an organisation that may be eligible for funding. This is critical to achieving our objectives and long-term success. We know that funding applications is a very competitive field. We need the best opportunity for success! We need a grant writer. GOAL: Successful grant writing and funding application. The organisation has identified that it may be eligible for funding from different sources, but realises that it will need specialist skills to develop an application that meets all of the criteria and that is written by an experienced (and successful) submission writer. WSA: The first consultation (up to an hour) is no charge / no obligation. This process provides critical information and assessment tools to evaluate the organisation’s strategy, direction and best opportunity of success. WSA worked with the organisation’s management to gain critical information to include in a comprehensive (competitive) funding submission. Grant writing is our specialty. The process required extensive and accurate canvassing of the criteria, as well as attachments clearly communicating (with images) why the organisation is in the best position to achieve successful outcomes. The lead writer for WSA is an accredited professional photographer and journalist, able to deliver ‘winning edge’ documentation. The submission was submitted fully complaint and on time. OUTCOME: The organisation, based in a large regional NSW city, was successful in achieving funding amounting to several millions of dollars over three years. They are now progressing to become the ‘best in the business’. Over the past 10 years alone, WSA has developed funding applications that have successfully generated more than $25M |
